After logging in, a JWT (JSON Web Token) is stored in your browser as an HTTP-only cookie. It contains a hashed username (not plaintext) and expires after 60 minutes.

Security Measures

  • HTTPS-Only: Cookies are never sent over unencrypted connections.
  • HttpOnly: Prevents JavaScript from reading the cookie (protects against XSS).
  • Short Expiry: JWT expires after 60 minutes, reducing risk if leaked.
  • No Personal Data: Only a hashed username is stored; passwords are never kept in cookies.
